The Software Quality Assurance Technician – Level 1 is an individual contributor responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining comprehensive quality assurance activities across complex software systems. This role serves as a technical support in testing methodologies, automation, and defect management and collaborating closely with development, product, and operations teams to ensure high-quality software releases. Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing
Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for applications and system integration Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT) Validate software against business requirements, technical specifications Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects to resolution using defect tracking tools
Automation & Tooling
Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts Evaluate and contribute to selection of QA tools and methodologies Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve software quality and test coverage
Collaboration & Leadership
Work cross-functionally with software developers, product owners and support groups
Process Improvement & Compliance
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and documentation Support release readiness activities and risk assessments Collaborate with Quality System Management to maintain an audit trail for software validation processes Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with min 1 year experience or Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with min 2 years experience requried Min 1 year of experience in quality assurance or software testing
Technical Skills
Familiar with software testing methodologies Ability to quickly learn test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps) Ability to read and understand technical documentation, APIs, and basic code
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing enterprise, cloud-based, or integrated systems Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
