AI/LLM Contractor — Career Transition Track (Contract-to-Hire) Location: NYC preferred; remote-friendly (part-time, not fully on-site) Type: Part-time Contract (Contract-to-Hire) Duration: Month-to-month, or 3 months with possible extension Pay: $30–40/hour, negotiable based on experience We welcome candidates from data analytics, data engineering, or traditional software engineering backgrounds who are looking to move into applied AI and LLM work — no prior AI-specific job title required. About Novellia Novellia is the first and only company that lets anyone in the US gain access to decades of their health data in under 30 seconds, completely free. We help individuals unify their medical records across providers into one continuously updated longitudinal health profile. We are building the leading patient-powered real-world data platform for life sciences. Unlike traditional healthcare data providers that rely on fragmented institutional datasets, Novellia enables patients to securely access and authorize 15+ years of longitudinal health records, transforming these complete health journeys into fit-for-purpose datasets for evidence generation, regulatory submissions, and market access. Our data have been featured in collaborations with leading scientific organizations including ASCO and SABCS/AACR, and we work with top biopharma partners to accelerate research and innovation. Novellia is growing rapidly and backed by tier-1 investors including Spark Capital, Khosla Ventures, Bling Capital, and others.
About the Role

You'll work closely with the Client Solutions, Data, Engineering, and Product teams to help design and develop best-in-class AI-driven data products while leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to improve productivity, automation, insight generation, and workflows across the company. This is a hands-on, part-time contract role where you'll contribute directly to real projects and collaborate across technical and business teams to turn complex healthcare and data challenges into scalable solutions. This Is Where You Come In We're a fast-moving startup working on difficult and meaningful problems in healthcare and AI. We value people who are curious, proactive, adaptable, and excited to build. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, learning quickly, and working across multiple functions in a highly collaborative environment. You should be comfortable operating with a high level of ownership, moving quickly, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. If you're excited about AI, healthcare data, and building products that have real-world impact, you'll find the work both challenging and rewarding. How You'll Spend Your Time at Novellia AI Products & Data Solutions Build and experiment with NLP- and LLM-based applications Develop solutions involving semantic search, embeddings, summarization, RAG pipelines, AI agents, and prompt engineering Work on AI-powered products and longitudinal healthcare data solutions Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to generate insights and improve product performance Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to improve workflows, research, automation, and productivity Collaborate closely with Client Solutions, Engineering,
