SCOPE OF ROLE: The Optical Systems and Lasers Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be a key resource on our Manufacturing Operations team supporting production and Manufacturing Engineers in sustaining and optimizing manufacturing processes, instructions, and training.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Provide on-the-floor training to manufacturing associates on new processes or equipment Assist with training schedule, including training sign off with the trainer and trainee Write, develop, and update work instructions as required Perform and track station maintenance after M.E. has established criteria Understand failure modes and assist in corrective action plan Lead value stream process improvements, flow, mix, pitch, WIP deployment Attend DMM and proactively escalate issues affecting quality Ensure timely movement of parts on/off Manufacturing Hold Assist in expediting work orders through the area and deliver status updates as required Understand the process flow for the area of responsibility Escalate tooling or other manufacturing gaps preventing line down where possible Produce parts for burst or development cycles as required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a High School Diploma or Technical Associate Degree Minimum of 3 years of Technical experience in a manufacturing capacity Proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interface with all levels of the organization Experience documenting Manufacturing Processes
