Job Description
L3Harris is seeking mechanical controls engineers in Rochester NY to work on a dynamic team to develop EO/IR solutions. They will have Controls Engineering responsibilities consisting of the design, development, modification, evaluation and analysis of complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, opto-mechanical components, subassemblies and systems. Candidate will work closely with cross functional members in engineering, manufacturing, & program management to design, develop & build high performance systems.
Essential Functions
• Control-system design, analysis and verification methods
• State estimation data fusion methods for inertial navigation
• Influence architecture and design configuration through comparative trades
• Subsystem requirement allocation
• Modeling and simulation methods
• Performance characterization and fault diagnosis
• Understand and implement systems engineering processes
• Create and update essential engineering documents including specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentations
• Design, develop, modify and evaluate complicated and difficult mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems.
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
