About this role

At Google, we put our users first. The world is always changing, so we need Product Managers who are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that affect millions of people every day. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users. As the Product Manager for GenAI Responsibility, you will own the safety, quality, and responsibility strategy for YouTube’s conversational AI products on Search and Watch. These features allow users to search for content and ask follow-up questions about the videos they are watching. You will ensure that when users ask about sensitive topics - such as medical advice, financial planning, election details, or breaking news - the AI provides highly accurate, helpful, and safe responses. At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits Learn more about benefits at Google .

Define and drive the end-to-end responsibility strategy and roadmap for conversational GenAI products on sensitive topics. Develop scalable evaluation frameworks to measure and monitor GenAI response quality on sensitive topics globally. Partner with GenAI Engineering and Research to develop, test, and launch safety guardrails, prompt engineering guidelines, and response-filtering models. Collaborate closely with Trust and Safety, Policy, Legal, and PR to ensure GenAI responses align with YouTube’s global platform policies and rapidly evolving regional regulations. Present your goals, strategy, and risk mitigation plans regularly to executive leadership, driving alignment and buy-in on high-stakes product decisions.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in product management or a related technical role. Experience building and launching products utilizing machine learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), or generative AI technologies. Experience in product management, specifically delivering consumer-facing software products from concept to launch. Experience leading cross-functional teams including Engineering, UX, Policy, and Legal to launch features. Preferred qualifications: Experience designing and scaling evaluation frameworks for LLMs (e.g., human-in-the-loop annotation, LLM-as-a-judge, red-teaming). Experience working in Trust and Safety, AI safety, content moderation, or information quality products. Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI safety guardrails, or conversational AI interfaces (e.g., search, assistants). Ability to influence technical roadmaps with Engineering and Research partners, and communicate complex risk-mitigation plans to executive leadership. Excellent
