Position

Summary The Global Medical Affairs (GMA) team is a newly created organization focused on positioning Zoetis as the leading animal health company in veterinary medicine and science. The Head, US Companion Animal Medical Portfolio Support, Global Medical Affairs (GMA) is accountable for the US companion animal pillar of the broader GMA organization—translating global medical strategy into strong, consistent execution in the United States and elevating US medical insights back into global strategy. This role provides unified medical support across companion animal therapeutic areas for the US business, serves as a senior medical affairs people leader, and represents Zoetis externally across key US stakeholders. The Head, US Companion Animal Medical Portfolio Support, Global Medical Affairs (GMA) reports directly to the Zoetis Global Chief Medical Officer and is a member of the Global Medical Affairs Leadership Team.

Position

Responsibilities People leadership (US pillar) Lead, coach, and develop the US Companion Animal Medical Portfolio Support team (direct reports and/or matrixed resources) to deliver scientific excellence, customer-centric execution, and consistent medical impact. Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations aligned to global GMA direction and US business needs; provide regular feedback and drive accountability. Build US team capability through hiring, onboarding, training, succession planning, and intentional career development pathways. Create an inclusive, collaborative culture that promotes psychological safety, ethical decision-making, and a strong colleague experience. Work with GMA and US business leadership to define the optimal operating model (e.g., governance, decision rights, medical review/approval pathways, communications cadence) and coordinate cross-functional execution. Internally (US focus) Ensure comprehensive, unified medical support for the US business, aligned with global GMA standards. Optimize US medical roles and ways of working to ensure clarity, impact, and efficient deployment of medical expertise. Ensure the voice of the US customer is reflected in priorities and execution; capture US insights and feed them into global strategy. Communicate and reinforce a unified medical message across US stakeholders and functions. Improve colleague experience and satisfaction by strengthening medical engagement, support, and collaboration within the US pillar. Externally (US focus)  Represent Zoetis in the United States to the veterinary medical profession, industry partners, and other external stakeholders as needed. Serve as a senior Zoetis medical authority for US public-facing matters as needed, in alignment with global positioning and corporate communications.  Serve as a trusted Zoetis medical expert to US customers and partners, and as a key interface to global corporate medical leadership.  Core deliverables and outcomes (US pillar) Consistent, high-quality US medical guidance supporting portfolio, evidence, and business decisions—aligned to global GMA direction. A functioning, connected US veterinary community with clear governance and engagement, linked into global communities of practice. Clear role design, resourcing, and operating rhythms that maximize the impact of US medical resources, in partnership with GMA pillar colleagues, particularly the Medical Education and Global Portfolio Support pillars US customer insights translated into actionable internal recommendations and shared with brand teams to support market insights. Harmonized scientific/medical narratives and messaging across US regions/teams with clear escalation and alignment to global standards. Strong US external credibility and trusted relationships with key stakeholders. A high-performing US organization with clear outcomes focused goals, strong engagement, measurable talent development progress.

Education & Experience

Required qualifications DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree;
