About this role
Is this the role for you? At Paramount Pictures, we bring the world's biggest stories to audiences across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As Director, Theatrical Distribution EMEA, you'll shape and drive the theatrical distribution strategy for our film releases across a wide portfolio of territories — owning commercial performance and market management from launch through to long-term success. You'll be the connection point between our headquarters, regional teams, local distributors and licensees, exhibitors and partners — working to maximise box office performance, sharpen release strategies and deliver profitable growth across the region. It's a role that blends commercial leadership, strategic planning, analytics, business development and stakeholder management, with a hand in marketing strategy, forecasting and territory planning across the EMEA network. What will you be doing? Territory and distribution leadership
Oversee theatrical distribution across your assigned EMEA territories — including Albania, Bulgaria, the CIS markets, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine — ensuring strong launches and lasting commercial performance. Build and maintain relationships with regional distributors, licensees, exhibitors and strategic partners. Lead negotiations and support key commercial decisions on theatrical releases and market opportunities. Evaluate distribution opportunities, partnerships and business-development initiatives across the region.
Release management and strategy
Develop and recommend release-date strategies, format plans, preview programmes and windowing approaches for individual titles. Work with local markets and headquarters to shape release plans tailored to local conditions. Track competitor activity, industry trends, audience behaviour and regional market dynamics to guide decision-making.
Commercial analysis and reporting
Analyse box office performance, market share, admissions, ticket-price trends, retention rates and revenue forecasts. Produce business intelligence, strategic presentations and executive reports for senior leadership. Consolidate regional performance data and recommend ways to strengthen future distribution and marketing. Turn complex data into clear, actionable commercial insight for regional and global stakeholders.
Financial and business planning
Review market budgets and forecasts with local distributors and internal teams. Support revenue forecasting, target-setting and financial performance management across the territory portfolio. Partner with finance and distribution teams to improve profitability and resource allocation.
Marketing and cross-functional collaboration
Partner with marketing, publicity, media, operations, finance and headquarters teams to deliver successful theatrical campaigns. Contribute to regional marketing strategies, creative initiatives and campaign performance. Coordinate cross-functional support for EMEA territories and keep communication flowing between local markets and our Los Angeles teams.
Leadership and team
Lead and develop the EMEA Distribution Team Coordinator. Work closely with the Senior Vice President, making sure they have the information they need to make well-judged decisions. Support colleagues' development and encourage strong collaboration across the EMEA network. Contribute to regional conferences, training initiatives and organisational projects.
