Job Description
AECOM is actively growing the East Region Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) practice and is seeking an Environmental Project Manager within the Southeast Region's EPP Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing environmental permitting and utility siting projects for energy and other private sector clients. The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM EPP specialists across the US. For this opportunity, we will consider candidates in any of our southeast region offices including, but not limited to, the following: Raleigh and/or Charlotte, NC, Greenville, SC, Atlanta, GA and Tampa, Orlando or Miami, FL. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Manage and perform consulting projects to scope, schedule, and budget, learning and applying AECOM’s project management systems and software. The candidate will accelerate through AECOM’s in-house Project Management certification program within the first year of employment. Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff. Perform client visits and field activities that require work outside the office and overnight travel. Coordinate, manage, and direct project field and data collection efforts. Develop, manage, and deliver business strategy and tactics, high-quality proposals, interdisciplinary teams, and documents and report deliverables. Serve as an interface with clients and regulatory personnel on complex projects and through business development initiatives. Proactively enforce a culture of producing high-quality work and the importance of Health & Safety within the team. Provide technical support to the EPP Department and individual Project Managers, and support inter-disciplinary business development activities. Collaborate with other AECOM offices, practices, and business lines.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Natural resources, Wetlands management, or an earth science-related field + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 6+ years of experience managing projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review. Due to the nature or work, US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in relevant field. 8+ years industry experience, preferably with energy and other private sector clients providing environmental assessment and permitting compliance support. Experience in the Carolinas or Florida, and other surrounding States within the Southeast Region. Existing, mature, and tested
