Summary: The Senior Director, Trade Finance (Cooperative Trade Marketing, Go To Market, Special Marketing Funds, International) provides support & leadership to extended teams within the Finance Hub, Operating Units, Bottlers, CCBSS and Genpact. This position provides financial leadership for the company’s North America and Latin America Settlement processes. The role provides strategic and finance direction, policy interpretation, and operational decision-making to sales and finance teams, as well as cultivates and maintains relationships with business clients. The position provides guidance and training as well as oversight/performance management in the administration and handling of North America and Latin America settlement processes and systems. In addition, it is incumbent upon the role to ensure financial controls are being met in the management of trade spend, accruals and fallout. The role manages and oversees all financial forecasting, planning, analysis, and accrual processes related to these settlement processes.
Key Responsibilities
Drive process for all aspects related to the North America and Latin America settlement process. Business Owner of MARS (Marketing Accrual & Reimbursement System) on behalf of The Company and Participating Bottlers. Maintain financial controls and financial reporting for CTM (Cooperative Trade Marketing), GTM (Go To Market Funds), and SMF (Special Marketing Funds). Responsible for the global key customer chargeback and LATAM processes. Work closely with sales and marketing teams to align trade marketing strategies with company objectives and sales targets. Oversee the settlement and deductions management process to ensure proper tracking, validation, resolution, and reporting of all trade-related deductions and discrepancies. Manage Bottler billing and settlement process for cooperative trade marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Influence and provide leadership & direction to a team of cooperative trade marketing, special marketing funds and deductions staff, encouraging professional development and high performance. Keep abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape to influence trade marketing and deductions strategies. Oversee the accrual process to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded and reported accurately and timely. Translate complex settlement, deduction, accrual, and trade spend insights into executive-ready reporting, recommendations, and decision support, recommending actions based on financial insights. Partner with various department heads to develop budgets and financial plans and guide staff members on financial forecasting and accrual procedures. Oversee the implementation of new financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy, such as BODYARMOR integration. Maintain a strong control environment for trade spend and settlement activity, ensuring audit readiness, policy compliance, timely issue escalation, and remediation of control gaps Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance and/or Accounting required. MBA or other advanced degree a plus. Related Work Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in financial planning, forecasting, accruals, and settlement management processes preferably in a senior leadership role. Proven track record in successfully working with cross functional teams. Experience in improving efficiencies based on targeted metrics. Prior experience working with internal clients and external customers to resolve finance and accounting issues. Experience with financial systems and other relevant software. Demonstrated understanding of financial forecast and accrual processes. Functional Skills: Excellent interpersonal and business partnership skills. Strong written and verbal communication.
