Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.            About the role: The Director of Scientific Affairs leads the AFib Solutions Scientific Affairs team, supporting the Electrophysiology and WATCHMAN™ franchises. This role is responsible for developing and executing franchise-specific evidence strategies to address critical data gaps, strengthen scientific partnerships, and deliver impactful podium and publication strategies. The Director will ensure alignment with therapeutic and business objectives, foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and advance Boston Scientific’s position as a leader in patient-focused innovation.   Work Mode: This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Arden Hills, MN or Marlborough, MA office at least three days per week. Visa Sponsorship: Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.   Your responsibilities will include:

Lead and develop a high-performing Scientific Affairs team in interpreting clinical data and trial designs to identify evidence gaps and strategic opportunities within the atrial fibrillation space. Develop and align scientific evidence and communication strategies with therapeutic area and business objectives, leveraging clinical trends and unmet needs to drive impactful publications and scientific education. Ensure the team effectively translates complex scientific and clinical data into clear, accurate and compelling content for internal and external audiences. Drive cross-functional collaboration with Clinical, Regulatory, Research and Development (R&D), Health Economics and Marketing to integrate scientific strategy into broader business objectives. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinical investigators and scientific partners to advance evidence generation and therapy adoption. Provide strategic leadership across Scientific Affairs to ensure alignment with clinical, scientific and organizational priorities. Serve as a trusted scientific advisor to internal and external stakeholders, contributing to initiatives that strengthen scientific credibility and reinforce Boston Scientific's leadership. Allocate resources effectively and manage departmental budgets. Define, implement and continuously improve team processes to drive operational excellence.

Required qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a scientific or related field Minimum of 10 years' experience in the medical device industry, with the majority of experience in Scientific Affairs, Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Medical Science and/or Research and Development (R&D) Minimum of 5 years' experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including experienced Medical Affairs Managers and Scientific Affairs Specialists Strong knowledge of cardiovascular medicine, with experience in electrophysiology and/or interventional cardiology preferred Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies, health economics, regulatory guidelines and medical terminology Proven strategic planning skills with the ability to identify opportunities and make sound, data-driven decisions Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups Excellent project management and execution skills Proven clinical, scientific and technical acumen
