The Opportunity

The person hired as the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will work out of our Irving, TX location in the Core Lab Business Unit . Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.   What You’ll Work On Provide technical leadership and engineering expertise to support new and existing medical devices, prototypes, tools, fixtures, and manufacturing processes. Lead component and subassembly development activities while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, verify, and validate medical device components and subsystems in compliance with regulatory requirements. Evaluate designs using experimental, analytical, and simulation-based methods. Select appropriate materials, components, manufacturing processes, and technologies. Develop test methods, simulation models, and reliability strategies to reduce design risk. Create and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, schematics, and design records. Design and build prototypes, fixtures, tools, and test systems that support product development. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve product quality and production efficiency. Perform root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for complex technical issues. Contribute to risk management activities including dFMEA, pFMEA, and risk assessments. Lead technical discussions and provide project direction across cross-functional teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives for products, processes, and engineering tools. Conduct design reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers. May serve as an Independent Reviewer and lead small project teams.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in an Engineering or closely related STEM field an equivalent combination of education and work experience Minimum 6 years Relevant Experience Experience conducting engineering studies and validations, including data analysis using statistically sound methodology and authoring technical reports. Ability to design engineering test methods. Demonstrated expertise and proficiency with design and trouble shooting.      Experience leading cross-functional risk assessments for new products or process changes.                 Strong project management skills. Deep understanding of equipment functionality. Ability to understand regulations and regulatory environment.A
