The GTC EMEA PM Customs Compliance Governance role is a strategic position responsible for driving comprehensive trade compliance excellence across Amazon's Leo EMEA operations. This role combines customs regulatory requirements and operational execution, ensuring seamless implementation of evolving EMEA legislative frameworks including CBAM obligations while maintaining Amazon's commitment to compliance excellence. The position requires a dynamic, experienced professional who can navigate complex cross-functional partnerships, develop robust operational processes, and translate regulatory requirements into actionable business strategies. This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations. Key job responsibilities Compliance Implementation & Management • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as GTC internal teams incl. HS classification team, valuation or export controls team on the strategies to implement and manage legislative requirements, including CBAM management and reporting obligations • Partner with business units to proactively identify compliance risks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements • Work with leaders, across Amazon to identify customs optimization opportunities and influence development of new compliance programs, products, and services Process Development & Documentation • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive operational processes and procedures • Identify and address information or process gaps through coordination with internal partners incl. expansions team and export controls team as well as external stakeholders • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency Performance Management & Reporting • Contribute to performance requirements, timelines, and success metrics for customs compliance activities in EMEA region • Maintain rigorous standards for meeting the compliance KPIs Regulatory Monitoring & Communication • Track and analyze import/export regulatory and business changes affecting EMEA region customs operations • Communicate regulatory guidelines clearly to stakeholders throughout the export/import planning lifecycle Training & Communication • Design and implement communication and strategic training programs to ensure internal and external partners understand and align with trade and product compliance processes • Promote awareness and alignment across all stakeholder groups regarding compliance requirements and procedures Leadership Support • Provide regular reporting and insights to the EMEA GTC Lead • Support global GTC initiatives and projects for Amazon Leo • Represent EMEA region in global GTC forums and discussions • Contribute to strategic planning for trade compliance improvements About the team Our team is dedicated to supporting new members.
