We are seeking a motivated and experienced Geoscientist with strong expertise in shallow, high-resolution seismic acquisition methods, tools, and applications to support site investigation survey design, data acquisition, subsurface characterization, and geohazard assessment programs. What you will do
The Operations Geology Site Investigation Specialist is responsible for the following:
Integrate geophysical, engineering geophysical, geotechnical, geological, hydrographic, environmental, and offset-well data to characterize shallow subsurface conditions and support safe site development and well drilling. Apply knowledge of acquisition methods, tools, and applications to design and deliver fit-for-purpose site-investigation programs. Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for survey acquisition, processing, interpretation, and contractor deliverables addressing project-specific geohazard challenges. Interpret 2D, 3D, and other seismic volumes to assess shallow subsurface hazards and uncertainties. Translate findings into recommendations for well planning, casing design, facility design, and risk mitigation. Develop, apply, maintain, and champion SHSI Best Practices, standards, and quality workflows. Pilot new technologies and adapt acquisition and interpretation workflows to evolving business needs. Support vendor selection, contracting, supervision, and performance evaluation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical risks, uncertainties, and recommendations to enhance internal and external technical capabilities. Ensure work complies with ExxonMobil’s OIMS, regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements. Adopt safe work practices and use any equipment provided for health and safety purposes in accordance with ExxonMobil's safety policies. Conduct operations and activities in accordance with
