As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are responsible for developing and maintaining methods, operating sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You'll work closely with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and you'll use engineering principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Your expertise in lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving higher levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness. You'll develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to identify root cause issues and solutions that ensure operational success. Role Responsibilities: Helps to develop operation sequence and processes related to the building of sub-assemblies and final assemblies. This may include designing build/lift fixtures or making engineering design changes to improve the production process. May also include in helping with build cell/manufacturing layouts that aim to streamline the production process. Interfaces with other engineering disciplines to coordinate the release of product improvements and/or new products. Writes, releases, approves, implements, and issues engineering change orders (ECO’s) as required to support design engineering and operations for new and existing products. Determine root cause and corrective actions for issues that arise during assembly and/or test of systems and subsystems; Implements corrective actions to eliminate future occurrences. This often requires strong and effective communication skills. Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements. Implements changes to improve safety, quality, and reliability. Uses lean principles to eliminate wastes found in the production system. May work with test engineering on the design and development
