This role determines transmission line routes and substation sites for Electric Transmission projects. Acquires local, state and federal permits for transmission and substation facilities. Prepares environmental assessments and studies of transmission and substation projects. Makes presentations for proposed projects to civic groups, property owners and regulatory agencies. May testify before federal, state and local agencies concerning transmission routing and substation siting. Coordinates permitting activities with local, state and federal agencies. Performs financial analysis to determine most cost effective solutions. Guides, advises and trains less experienced Siting and Permitting Specialists. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
5+ years related experience. Full knowledge of local, state and federal laws concerning permitting transmission and substation facilities . Excellent verbal and written communication, public speaking, negotiating and customer service skills. Familiarity with GIS/Graphic design computer applications. Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor Preferred Discipline: Business, Engineering Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines(s) listed above.
