Flowserve is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of valve automation and control valve accessory solutions. This role is responsible for designing and adapting mounting systems for positioners, switch boxes, solenoids, actuators, and related automation hardware across Flowserve and third-party valve platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering, field service, supply chain, manufacturing, and global engineering teams to create reliable mounting solutions, support customer applications, and improve automation processes used throughout critical industries including oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and industrial processing.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mounting kits for control valves and automated valve assemblies. Create CAD models, fabrication drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Support integration of digital positioners, switch boxes, solenoids, lockup valves, and pneumatic accessories. Evaluate field measurements and develop customized mounting solutions. Organize and work with field service to implement a process for this. Create installation instructions. Work with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams on make-versus-buy decisions. Collaborate with Global Technology Engineering Center (GTEC) resources. Maintain and enhance engineering libraries, drawings, mounting redesigns, BOMs, and configuration documentation. Support troubleshooting, field assessments, and customer-facing technical solutions. Participate in site assessments and customer turn-around support. Support product mounting in QRC assembly/production. Technical help for sales and in-house roles for valve accessories and mountings. Collaborate across Flowserve global locations involved in mounting solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 3-5 years or relevant expeirence with digital positioners for control valves, valve automation, actuators, accessories, or industrial mechanical systems. Strong CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred. Ability to create engineering drawings and technical documentation. Including drafting and GD&T standards. Understanding of pneumatic systems, control valves, or automation packages. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Control valve or valve automation industry experience. Instrumentation or automation engineering exposure. FEA knowledge. ERP experience (Oracle preferred). Experience supporting field installations and customer applications.
