About this role
About Zipline
Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.
Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.
Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.
We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.
About You and The Role
Zipline’s Half Moon Bay test facility supports the aircraft and operational equipment used to develop and validate our delivery systems. As a Logistics Specialist, you will own onsite inventory control and material flow so teams have the right hardware, in the right condition and location, when testing and maintenance require it.
You will work hands-on across receiving, inventory systems, replenishment, staging, and returns. Excellent execution means trusted inventory records, early shortage prevention, and material availability that avoids preventable interruptions to test-fleet work.
What You'll Do
• Own daily inventory control for aircraft, Droids, service parts, test equipment, and operational supplies at the Half Moon Bay test facility.
• Receive, inspect, and put away inbound material, verifying purchase orders and transfers against part numbers, quantities, serial or lot controls, condition, and documentation.
• Execute ERP/WMS transactions, maintain location and traceability data, perform cycle counts, and investigate inventory discrepancies through resolution.
• Monitor demand and inventory levels; initiate replenishment, reordering, escalation, or expediting before shortages affect test or maintenance work.
• Pick, stage, issue, and deliver parts and kits to onsite teams while maintaining accurate material transactions.
• Process test-fleet hardware returns, including identification, segregation, system status, documentation, packaging, and routing to repair, suppliers, engineering, or central inventory.
• Coordinate transfers and outbound shipments; partner with Test Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Logistics to identify material risks early.
What You'll Bring
• 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, material handling, or a comparable operational environment.
• Experience using an ERP, WMS, or comparable inventory system
